Eastside Exterminators opened in 1969, when the Eastside was still mostly orchards and the first service route ran out of a single truck. The region changed considerably. What we do about a damp crawl space did not.
Pest control in the Pacific Northwest is a specific problem. It rains for eight months. Houses sit on vented crawl spaces over wet ground. Mature trees lean against rooflines. Cedar siding softens, framing stays damp, and every autumn the first sustained rain pushes rodents toward anything warm and dry.
Fifty-plus years of that teaches you where to look. It also teaches you that the pest is usually the symptom — the failing gutter, the unscreened vent, the branch nobody trimmed. We would rather tell you that than sell you a recurring appointment to manage it forever.
Today we are part of Anticimex, a pest-control group founded in Sweden in 1934. That relationship brought research, training and connected monitoring technology. It did not change who answers the phone.
We do not quote from a phone call. Nearly every job here starts with someone in a crawl space or an attic with a torch, because that is where the answer is.
You should understand why we are recommending exclusion over another round of trapping, or why the crawl space matters more than the kitchen. If our reasoning does not hold up, you should be able to see that too.
Water, gaps and harbourage. Treat the pest without addressing those three and you have booked a repeat visit rather than solved a problem.

We have been working on the same houses, in the same weather, against the same pests, since before most of these neighbourhoods were built. That is not nostalgia — it is why we know where to look.
1969
A family business built around one idea that has not changed since: the people who live in a region are the ones who should be protecting it. Boeing was booming, the Eastside was still mostly orchards, and the first service route ran out of a single truck.
1970s
As farmland became subdivisions across Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond, the work shifted from agricultural to residential. Crawl spaces, cedar siding and Northwest rain turned carpenter ants and rodents into the region's defining pest problems.

Service routes expanded north into Snohomish County and south through the Kent Valley. Commercial accounts — restaurants, warehouses, property managers — became a distinct side of the business with its own documentation standards.
